GOLD LEVEL: The Premium Package features comprehensive counseling throughout the college process starting junior year or the summer after sophomore year. Junior year activity involves identifying, researching, and planning to visit colleges, developing and enhancing activities, and planning summer activities. In the summer after junior year, students will draft and complete their college essays, with Cameron’s help—an average of 20 essays of various lengths. (Does not include honors college or scholarship essays.) Cameron will also help students draft and revise the Common Application Activities and Honors List. Students and parents can schedule an unlimited number of meetings with Cameron. This package costs $7200. If cost is an issue, please email me (geareneducational@gmail.com) to discuss a sliding scale or other arrangement.
SILVER LEVEL: The Medium Package starts in April, May, or later of a student’s junior year or the summer after and includes full service counseling on five (5) schools. Tasks include developing a college list, completing the central essay (personal statement) for the Common Application, and completing a full review of (with edits and drafts) supplemental essays for up to but not more than five schools. Since many schools require up to 3 supplemental essays and some require more, this package usually includes full help on up to twenty essays. Students meet with Cameron monthly during March and April of junior year, then close to weekly over the summer and into the fall of senior year during application season. Cameron will give some (limited) advice on extracurriculars and summer activities; Cameron will help the student create and review the Common App Activities and Honors list. This package costs $5800.
BRONZE LEVEL: The Mini Package focuses on developing a college list and includes discussion of general application strategy. This package includes one initial meeting where we review the student’s grades, testing, and interests and suggests an admissions timeline as well as tasks the student can do to increase her chances of success. Cameron will work with the student to build a list of approximately twenty potential schools with likelihood acceptance ratings. This package includes one follow-up meeting within thirty days. Families who choose the Mini Package may want limited help, or it may be a first step before upgrading to the Premium Package. The cost of the Mini Package is $1000.
GRADE 9 AND 10 ASSISTANCE: Many of the decisions students make in grades 9 and 10 chart the pathway for their application profile. Allowing GES to weigh in on options and make suggestions for activities and programs will positively shape a cohesive and competitive application. This service allows us to get to know your student better and to help in advising on activities and summer projects before we meet them junior year and to be sure they are on the right track to have enough activities and the correct classes for their future plans. For this service, we meet with your child monthly, review grades and class choices, review activities, and make suggestions that will help position the student well. Depending when a student signs up, this might be between 12 and 24 additional one-on-one meetings. Families who wish to receive help for their 9th or 10th graders must purchase this service. The cost of this additional service is $850 per grade or part of a grade.
